Tax Payment (Nouzei)
Please bring your payment slip to pay at a bank, post office, or convenience store (provided a barcode is printed on the slip) before the deadline written on the slip. You may also request that your bank automatically deduct these taxes from your account and pay them by bank transfer.
Personal Residential Tax (Municipal and Prefectural Taxes) (Jyumin-Zei)
You will receive the tax payment slip in June by mail. The residential tax amount is calculated based on the total income of the previous year from January 1st to December 31st. This is generally taxed at the taxpayer’s legal residence as of January 1st each year.
Regular Collection (Futsu-Choshu)
Please pay the year’s installments in June, August, October, and the following January by using the payment slips.
Tax will be deducted from your salary each month for the year.
(Starting from June and continuing until the following May)
Light Motor Vehicle Tax (Kei-Jidousha-Zei)
Owners of light motor vehicles (“Kei Cars”) or motorbikes as of April 1st pay this tax. You will receive the tax payment slip in early May by mail. The amount of tax will differ based on the specific type of vehicle.
Motor Vehicle Tax (Jidousha-Zei)
Owners of standard motor vehicles are required to pay this tax.
Please contact the Chikusei Prefectural Tax Office.
Income Tax (Shotoku-Zei)
Income tax is calculated based on the total income received from January 1st through December 31st of the year.
Those who are self-employed, receive an income from two or more places of employment, or whose annual salary excedes 0,000 must file a “Final Income Tax Return”.
Because this is a national tax, please contact the National Tax Agency, Shimodate Office.
Municipal Tax Report (Jyumin-Zei Shinkoku)
A tax report must be filed with the Chikusei Municipal Taxation Section by March 15th every year. However, those who file “Final Income Tax Returns” and salaried workers who have already filed a “Salary Payment Report” do not need to file a “Residential Tax Report”.
If you fail to submit this tax report, and are required to, you may not be eligible to be issued any necessary certificates.
