The opening parade unlocks the door to the fun events of mid summer. There are various activities such as the sumo wrestlers’ autographing session, ancient sumo performances (Heiancho sumai-no-sechie), women’s sumo, kids’ sumo, ude sumo (arm wrestling), pear picking, local produce shops and musical performances (for example, amateur band and Taiko).
　“Do-Su-Ko-I” is the call used in sumo, and pear means a fruit pear.
